We’re the generation of women who’ve been given mixed messages all our lives.  We’ve had two-track tapes bombarding us with so many different, and often conflicting, messages that we sometimes haven’t known which to listen to.  Our own mothers lived through World War II, and maybe the Great Depression; they’d endured hardship and sacrifice, but when peace and prosperity resumed, they yearned to be wives, mothers, and homemakers.  Our moms wanted their daughters to have it easier than they’d had it, to be pretty, popular, and catch a good man, but also to be “good girls.”   Oh sure, getting an education was important, but being too smart wasn’t encouraged if we ended up “Old Maids.”

Good Old Girls desires to provide a forum and network for women in their mid-plus years to gather and encourage one another to embrace the changes that come at this stage of life – physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually.   We encourage women to recapture their enthusiasm for dreams and aspirations from young womanhood and to translate them to fulfilling solutions for their present stage of life.  By leveraging their talents, wisdom and life experiences, they can attain new found fulfillment for their own lives and the lives of those around them.
